ECCDI currently has nine (9) communities providing 392 units in eastern North Carolina that offer self-sufficient living opportunities for active older adults. Consisting of one and two bedroom apartment homes, each location provides quality, affordable housing with professional on-site management. Set in attractive conveniently located areas, each community is within close proximity to medical offices, hospitals, banks, restaurants, shopping, churches, county transportation systems, community activities and other amenities.

The apartment features include floor plans that allow for easy mobility and furniture placement, multiple interior closets, exterior storage, pantry, refrigerator, range, dishwasher, ceiling fans, washer/dryer connections or facilities, and private entries with covered porches.

Most senior apartment communities have sidewalks, a gazebo, covered picnic areas and our newest feature, raised garden beds.

In November 2011, ECCDI opened its ninth senior apartment development in Jacksonville, NC offering 56 single-story apartment units, a community center with on-site manager’s office, eight raised garden beds with a rainwater harvesting system, outdoor benches, and screened gazebo in a beautifully landscaped location not far from the Gum Branch Road and Western Boulevard intersection.

Residency is available to individuals and couples 55 years of age and older. Certain income restrictions apply.

Leases are available on a year-to-year basis with a month’s security deposit. Pets less than 25 pounds are permitted with payment of a $150 non-refundable deposit.
